NXP Selects CoreAVI to Provide the Highest Levels of Safety Critical Graphics Drivers Compliant to ISO 26262 for the S32V234 Automotive Embedded Processor Product Family
March 14, 2017, Nuremberg, Germany; Embedded World Conference. Core Avionics & Industrial Inc. (CoreAVI) and NXP Semiconductors N.V. announce today the availability of graphics driver libraries and safety evidence for the S32V234 family of processors for advanced driver assistance systems; enabling the highest levels of safety critical use in automotive certifiable graphics products. The product offering includes CoreAVI’s suite of GPU accelerated OpenGL drivers, AutoCore™, compliant to ISO 26262 ASIL D for automotive applications.
The availability of CoreAVI’s ISO 26262 graphics driver suite for the NXP S32V234 enables automotive manufacturers to accelerate the certification of intelligent safety monitoring and display functions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) focused on increasing safety for occupants, pedestrians, and surrounding vehicles.
Designed from the ground up to achieve the highest levels of safety compliance, AutoCore is a high-performance graphics and video driver suite that includes OpenGL SC 1.0 or OpenGL SC 2.0, H.264 video decode/encode, video capture and display capabilities and comprehensive GPU Built-In-Test capabilities. CoreAVI’s OpenGL SC 2.0 is the latest industry standard safety critical OpenGL API which provides the flexibility and performance of GPU shader programming to safety critical applications. This, coupled with associated certification evidence, CertCore26262™, provides the basis for a complete certifiable graphics solution for Automotive Safety Integrity Levels (ASIL) A through D.
“AutoCore provides automotive manufacturers with the most cost-effective way to implement real-time graphics and vision processing while addressing critical functional safety requirements” said Lee Melatti, President of CoreAVI. “With the availability of the AutoCore OpenGL driver suite, CoreAVI can deliver ISO 26262 ASIL D compliance to customers designing safety-critical automotive graphics resulting in a significant time-to-market and cost advantage.”
“The availability of CoreAVI’s AutoCore driver suite with ISO 26262 certification evidence provides a large advantage to our customers who are designing enhanced safety console systems,” said Davide Santo, Product Line Manager for NXP ADAS Microcontrollers & Processors. “NXP selected CoreAVI to support the S32V234 based on their demonstrated capabilities and expertise from avionics certification programs deploying the NXP i.MX6. CoreAVI has applied this expertise to support the S32V234 for the automotive market to lower the technical and certification risks for our customers’ programs.”
